Enhancing the Prosperous Livestock Program, DT Peduli Garut Revitalizes Sheep Barn

DTPEDULI.ORG | GARUT – The Resilient Livestock Farmer Group (Kelompok Tani Ternak Tangguh) under DT Peduli Garut's guidance is renovating a sheep barn that has stood since 2018. Located in Sejahtera Village under DT Peduli Garut, specifically in Padamulya Village, Pasirwangi District, Garut Regency, this activity is part of ongoing efforts to improve the quality of the Prosperous Farmer program.

In addition to improving maintenance efficiency, the individual pen system is also believed to be able to minimize the risk of disease transmission between livestock. Thus, the productivity and quality of sheep are expected to increase significantly, in line with the program's main objective of creating independent and prosperous farmers.

Sandi, Program Staff at DT Peduli Garut, expressed his optimism about the impact of this renovation.

"The transition from colony barns to individual pens is not just about physical improvements, but also about enhancing the farmers' work methods. With this system, we can more easily monitor the health and development of each sheep, so disease risk can be reduced and livestock results become more optimal. Hopefully, this will truly have an impact on improving the welfare of the farmers," he said during the barn renovation on Tuesday (28/4/2026).

"We are very grateful to DT Peduli for facilitating this barn improvement. With better barn conditions, we are increasingly motivated to care for our livestock and are optimistic that results will also improve in the future," he said.

Through this program, DT Peduli continues to strive to provide real solutions for the community, particularly in the field of economic empowerment based on livestock farming. Hopefully, this success can become an inspirational model for other livestock farmer groups in various regions.
