Eid al-Adha Smiles at Sudan's Border
Distribution Detail
DTPEDULI.ORG | BANDUNG – The aroma of dry earth and the characteristic hot air of Africa enveloped the refugee camp along the Sudan border. The soft murmur of children's voices and conversations among mothers as they received qurban meat on the last day of Tasyrik, Saturday (30/5/2026) morning.
This year, through the Qurban Impact program, the National Zakat Management Institution (LAZNAS) DT Peduli collaborated with Rahma Relief Foundation to distribute the qurban animals from donors directly to vulnerable settlements.
Meat has become a luxury that is almost impossible to afford in the daily lives of refugees and dhuafa families at the Sudan border. The uncertain food situation makes nutritious meals an extremely rare sight.
"Thank you very much for helping me. Our fasting has ended. Iduladha (is the day) to celebrate it (to eat it), Alhamdulillahirabbil 'alamin," said a woman in a green hijab, her eyes glistening with tears.
While holding the qurban meat package tightly in her hands, her smile widened. Simple yet profound happiness radiated from her face.
"Barakallahu fikum. Thank you so much my children, thank you for sharing and feeding me. Thank you very much. Alhamdulillahirabbil 'alamin," she continued repeatedly, feeling that words of gratitude alone would never be enough to express her gratitude.
That happiness quickly spread. While holding the pieces of qurban meat that had just been distributed, other mothers simultaneously responded and offered their best prayers for those who performed qurban in their homeland:
"Barakallahu fikum," they said in unison accompanied by smiles.
DT Peduli is committed to bringing the care of the Indonesian people to the most needy parts of the world. This distribution strengthens Islamic brotherhood across continents.
"Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. This is DT Peduli Qurban Impact here in Africa; Uganda, Sudan, Kenya, and Somalia," said one of the Rahma Relief Foundation volunteers at the location, while pointing to the distribution activities.
"This time we are in Sudan for the distribution of our meat. As you can see in the background, these are some of our beneficiaries who will benefit from our meat contribution here in Sudan."
"Jazakumullah khairan for your support, may Allah accept and reward you abundantly in this world and the hereafter. We invite more donors to donate through DT Peduli for other projects here in Sudan. We would be very grateful for your support," he concluded with hope.
Iduladha at the Sudan-Uganda border this time has written a valuable story. On land full of trials, the care from those who performed qurban has transformed into strength and happiness that will continue to be remembered by hundreds of families there.
