DTPEDULI.ORG | SUKABUMI - The spirit to continue serving has never faded in the heart of Saripudin (58), a waste collector and Qur'an teacher for children in his neighborhood in Sukabumi City. Despite now having to fight the effects of a stroke he suffered last year, his hope to recover and teach the Qur'an remains strong in his heart.

Before suffering a stroke, Saripudin spent his days working to collect used items to meet his family's needs. Amid his busy search for livelihood, he also dedicated himself to teaching Qur'an to around 20 children near his home.

However, since being struck by a stroke last year, Saripudin's activities have become very limited. His health condition has prevented him from returning to work or teaching as before. Nevertheless, his spirit to recover and return to serving the community has never diminished.

"When I'm healthy, I want to go back to teaching Qur'an again," said Saripudin with a voice that is still not fully recovered from the stroke he experienced.

On Thursday (11/6/2026), Saripudin was enthusiastically supported by DT Peduli Sukabumi donors through the distribution of assistance in the form of a wheelchair. This assistance is expected to help Saripudin's mobility in carrying out daily activities during his recovery period.

"I would like to thank the DT Peduli donors who have provided this wheelchair assistance. May Allah reward all the kindness of you all with blessings and multiplied rewards," he said.

Saripudin is also the father of three children. His eldest child currently works as a madrasah teacher outside the city. His third child is still pursuing education at a Qur'an Teacher School in Sukabumi. Meanwhile, his second child, Ikhsan Fadillah, works as a teacher at one of the integrated Islamic schools in Sukabumi.

Ikhsan's educational journey is inseparable from the support of DT Peduli donors. He is an Alumni of the DT Peduli Student Scholarship Program in 2022, who received educational funding assistance from DT Peduli Sukabumi donors until he successfully completed his higher education, and now dedicates himself as a teacher.

"Alhamdulillah, thanks to the scholarship assistance from DT Peduli donors, I was able to complete my studies and now work as a teacher. Our family is also very grateful for the wheelchair assistance given to our father. May all donors always be given health, blessings, and the best reward from Allah SWT," said Ikhsan.

Saripudin's story is a real illustration that care and kindness can bring new hope to those who are struggling. Behind the wheelchair that now accompanies him, there is a great hope to recover, return to activities, and return to teaching the Qur'an to the children who are always waiting for his presence.
