DT Peduli Garut Distributes Aid and Basic Necessities for Afzal Fighting Against Tumor

DTPEDULI.ORG | GARUT - At just four years old, Afzal should be spending his days playing and learning. However, reality tells a different story. This child from Kampung Nagrak, RT 02 RW 01, Desa Cibiuk Kidul, Kecamatan Cibiuk, Kabupaten Garut must fight against Wilms Tumor, a kidney cancer he has suffered from since age three.

In the midst of his battle against the disease, Afzal and his family also face very limited economic conditions. Both of his parents currently have no employment or steady income. Meanwhile, Afzal must undergo chemotherapy every week at a hospital in Bandung, making the costs of transportation, food, and daily needs a heavy burden for the family.

As a form of compassion for others, Daarut Tauhiid (DT) Peduli Garut distributed basic food assistance and allowances through the Program Peduli Kebutuhan Mustahik to Afzal's family. This assistance is hoped to help meet the family's basic needs, while also giving them strength to continue supporting Afzal through his treatment process.

On Thursday (9/7/2026), the DT Peduli Garut team visited Afzal's home and witnessed how the young child still managed to smile despite undergoing various medical procedures. The spirit that Afzal possesses serves as a reminder that behind every limitation, there is always hope that must be preserved together.

"We are very grateful for the attention and assistance from DT Peduli. May Allah reward all the kindness of the donors. This help means so much to us as we struggle to support Afzal through his treatment," said Afzal's mother with deep emotion.

Abar, Head of DT Peduli Garut Branch, conveyed that the Program Peduli Kebutuhan Mustahik is a manifestation of the trust from donors to help people facing life's trials.

"Afzal not only needs medical treatment, but also moral support and attention from all of us. May this assistance lighten the burden on his family and encourage Afzal to continue fighting until Allah grants him the best recovery," he said.

DT Peduli Garut invites the community to continue fostering compassion for those facing health challenges and economic limitations. Every assistance given, no matter how small, can become new hope for those who are struggling.
