Distribution Detail

DTPEDULI.ORG | PALEMBANG – For some beneficiaries, the package of qurban meat that reaches their hands is not just about the contents of the package. But about who has traveled far, crossed rivers in the night, to ensure that this trust arrives.

The journey began from Palembang towards the dock by traveling by land for approximately 2.5 hours. Upon arriving at the dock, the team continued their journey by water using a getek boat, a traditional boat characteristic of South Sumatra waters, for one hour towards the location of Dusun Jungkal.

Most of the water journey was undertaken when it was already dark. There are no street lights on the water. What exists is only the moon hanging in the sky and stars twinkling in the distance.

Upon arriving at the location, the team distributed 170 packages of qurban meat, each containing one kilogram of beef, to the residents of Dusun Jungkal, a hamlet that only recently received electricity in the past few years. Dusun Jungkal still heavily relies on natural light and simple living.

The arrival of the DT Peduli team was welcomed with the characteristic warmth of riverside communities. Ambo, one of the community leaders of Dusun Jungkal, expressed gratitude and thanks for the qurban trust that reached his village.

"I represent the people of Dusun Jungkal in expressing thousands of thanks to DT Peduli for bringing the compassion of Allah, who distributed this qurban meat. Who have come from far away from Palembang, and rode the getek, and also at night. We are very grateful, please forgive us if there is no proper welcome or farewell. This is who we are, this is our relationship," he said with emotion.

Ambo also conveyed prayers and a small hope in a warm manner accompanied by a smile, "We also pray that Allah gives everyone health, long life, hopefully next year we can receive it again. But I have only one request, please don't come at night, come during the day only."

A small message that sounds funny, but also contains the deep concern of a community leader who worried about the safety of the volunteer team who had come from far away.

Similar sentiments were expressed by Almunip, the local RT Chairman, who also welcomed the DT Peduli team. According to him, the arrival of 170 packages of qurban meat this year is very meaningful for the residents.

"Thank you for the arrival of the DT Peduli volunteers who have sent qurban meat for us. May those who perform qurban have their sustenance facilitated, blessed, and beneficial. Usually here we only have one cow, which is distributed to more than 115 families," he said.

"Jazakumullah khoir to the muqorrib, who always trust us. Currently we are distributing to areas that can only be reached by boat, and we received information that this hamlet only recently received electricity in the past few years," said Joni.
