Stories of Qurban Joy from Uganda
Distribution Detail
DTPEDULI.ORG | BANDUNG – An unusual commotion echoed through Mahempe Village, Sironko District, Uganda. On Eid al-Adha, Wednesday (27/5/2026), hundreds of residents gathered with unmistakable joy in their eyes. This year's Eid al-Adha became a rare moment. Finally, residents of Mahempe Village and its surroundings could enjoy meat, a special dish they rarely get to taste.
Through the Qurban Impact program, DT Peduli bridged the compassion of pequrban from Indonesia to reach their brothers and sisters on the African continent. In collaboration with Rahma Relief Foundation Uganda as the local implementation partner, the qurban trust for 2026 was successfully distributed to the target beneficiaries with precision.
Since early morning, a delightful sense of urgency was felt at the slaughtering site. Local committees and volunteers moved swiftly to ensure the entire process complied with Islamic law and strict hygiene standards.
"This is DT Peduli Qurban Impact here, in Uganda, Africa. As you can see in the background, this is our meat, ready for distribution. We are in the process of distributing our qurban meat here, in Uganda. As you can see in the background, the skinning process is underway. Jazakumullah khair," reported one of the Uganda Qurban Committee members directly from the bustling location. Behind him, dozens of residents worked shoulder-to-shoulder completing the skinning and cutting process.
Geographic and infrastructure challenges did not dampen the team's spirit in delivering this trust. Meat packages weighing 3 to 4 kilograms were delivered directly door-to-door to residents' homes and to those who came directly to the slaughtering site.
Beyond Sironko, this distribution also reached Mpogo, Mafudu, and vulnerable communities in the surrounding areas. The main beneficiaries were the most needy groups in society, namely orphaned children, elderly widows, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and dhuafa families. This program successfully brought genuine happiness to approximately 2,000 beneficiaries.
Sincere smiles and prayers of goodness flowed from their lips for the pequrban in Indonesia. Far away in Uganda, the echo of Eid al-Adha takbir this year felt warmer, carrying the message that compassion can transcend national boundaries.
